Jason Prno delivered the presentation ‘Unique Challenges for Resource Development in the Canadian North’ to an audience of over 200 people in Guelph, Ontario on October 14, 2009. He was invited by the organization Third Age Learning to discuss his consulting and research experiences in the north, with a specific focus on the challenges faced by resource developers. Challenges related to the geography of the Canadian North, the meaningful inclusion of Aboriginal peoples, and climate change were discussed.

Trailhead Consulting was involved in the recent publication of the David Suzuki Foundation’s report Climate Change and Canadian Mining: Opportunities for Adaptation. The report’s release has received both national and international media coverage and Trailhead’s Jason Prno has been featured in a number of radio interviews and other media reporting.
Climate Change and Canadian Mining: Opportunities for Adaptation describes the vulnerability of the Canadian mining industry to climate change, highlights opportunities for adaptation and provides recommendations for industry and government.
