Trailhead Consulting’s Jason Prno spoke to attendees of the 2010 Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum Conference on May 11, 2010 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

His presentation focused on the results of a recently completed research project which evaluated the effectiveness of Impact and Benefit Agreements (IBAs) from the perspective of their Aboriginal signatories. Ulukhaktok Adaptation Action Plan 2010Trailhead Consulting recently worked with ArcticNorth Consulting on the release of two new reports on climate change adaptation in the western Canadian Arctic.  Climate change adaptation action plans were prepared for the communities of Ulukhaktok and Paulatuk, Northwest Territories.  Contact Trailhead for copies of the reports or check the ‘Publications’ section in coming weeks.

Jason Prno delivered the presentation ‘Unique Challenges for Resource Development in the Canadian North’ to an audience of over 200 people in Guelph, Ontario on October 14, 2009.  He was invited by the organization Third Age Learning to discuss his consulting and research experiences in the north, with a specific focus on the challenges faced by resource developers.  Challenges related to the geography of the Canadian North, the meaningful inclusion of Aboriginal peoples, and climate change were discussed.
